Paul Mitchell Thicken Up Styling Liquid, 6.8-oz

Menopause is no joke, y'all. Among the myriad other indignities, I've lost a bunch of hair, and so I have thinning, graying hair that gets super frizzy in humidity. Although I got this product for the thickening (frankly, I don't notice that effect so much), I love it because it has great smoothing action. Yay! I also have a sensitive nose and hate the way most hair goo stinks like some unholy marriage of chemicals and rotting flowers or fruit, but this doesn't smell all that bad and the odor dissipates quickly.

OK, here's the deal. I initially purchased this product at a drug store but could not get the pump device to work. I returned it and even the sales clerk couldn't get it (the pump) to work either. I tried other drug stores but couldn't find the product. I decided to order it from Amazon. Bottom line, the product is fantastic IF you can get the pump to work. My husband spent several frustrating minutes with the pump and finally it started working. Not sure what the problem is with the pump initially but the product itself is great.

My hairstylist had given me a sample pack of this a while back, which I put in a bathroom drawer and forgot about. One morning I came across it, gave it a try, and it made such a difference in how my hair looked and felt that I hopped on Amazon to get a full size bottle. I have fine hair, and due to weight loss several years ago, I also have thin hair. A small blob of this applied to towel-dried hair really gives it the weight needed to make a neat, controllable hairstyle (short/asymmetric cut). Highly recommend.

I first tried this product as a sample from a local beauty salon. I wasn't able to find it locally but did find it on Amazon. I have fine, curly hair that often goes limp through the day. This product gives my hair height, helps control the frizzies on those days and leaves my hair more manageable. It's not too heavy or overly scented. It's perfect for my hair.
